Cue!

Shortly before I went out, the following exchange occurred:
mom: Are you staying in tonight?
me: Nope.
mom: Of course not. Do you work tomorrow?
me: Yup.
mom: What time?
me: Eeearly.
mom: You're going to come home at a reasonable time, then?
me: Yup.

Of course, just because I think <3hrs of sleep for the 2nd night in a row is "reasonable".. :)

Cue rocked, as usual; guest DJ was DJ Defekt of Alchemy DC, (defektiv). Becky, Bob, Nick, Mark the big Scot, Kelly, Doug/Speedbump/cripple (who is going to be Dr. Scott in an upcoming production of Rocky Horror with the Trojan Whores), Cos, Suzie, assorted other people I met.. record high attendance, around 150-160 people! Storm whipped up outside partway through the night, power flickered several times (which took the music with it briefly each time).

On the way out, Becky and I got caught up talking to Ray for the better part of 45min.. really cool guy, decided that since he'd seen us around a lot he'd get to know us. He has a lot to say, all interesting.. just another good guy on the scene.

And now home, after 3, work at 7. I'm a night-owl, dammit! Not a morning person--too much fun stuff to do late at night!

In other news, I've been offered full-time employment at Petsmart (with pay increase and benefits), if I don't find a job in my field soon.. speaking of which, need to call RDR to see if they've made any progress towards a decision (following the "late-April interview" of another candidate.)

Got a call from Phill! Talked about various, not to mention sundry, for the better part of an hour. Retreated to Shauna's room for a while, as every other part of the house was noisy due to small children yelling/crying for no good reason.

Left voice mail with Suzanne at RDR, as she said (on April 10) that they would be interviewing another candidate in late April, inquiring about any update, as it's now early May.

Turns out:

There's still one pending out-of-area candidate (four total, including myself) to be inteviewed.

She realized, just today, that they'd never brought me in for the HR portion of the interview, so my timing was fortuitous, inasmuch as she didn't want to call out of the blue and have me expect it to be less innocuous. So, I'll get a call from Laurie (recruiter) tomorrow to schedule -that- interview.

Certainly not bad, and mom points out that me being local could be a point in my favor, all other things being equal--no reloc costs for them if I'm hired.
