Improv, etc

Followed Nathan to his house in my own vehicle, played with his dog, and played a bit of Ghost Recon on his GameCube, then headed over to Stage Door in Alexandria in his car. Hung out with some of the troupe and employees, had some food.

The show was entertaining, though not quite as good as the first one I went to, nor as well-attended--to be expected, as it was a Sunday night.

Afterwards, heard them picking apart their show, finding all the faults. Kind of spoiled the spontaneity of it all, and Nathan doesn't like going over the "notes" right after the Sunday show, either. He'd actually like to start his own troupe, but his options are either be a sister troupe to the existing one, and thus not compete--meaning no shows Fri/Sat evenings, which would suck--or be a competing troupe, which would also suck and probably ostracize him from some of the current members, whom he likes.

Back to Nathan's, played with the dog, had a soda, drove back home, spent almost 2 hours catching up on LJ and IMing, and now continuing the same. No work Monday! Woo!

USA Datanet is my friend! Maybe yours!

For the first time in a long while, I'm plugging USA Datanet again! They have a variety of calling plans, the most interesting of which features calls at $0.10/min, capped at $0.99/call to $1.99/call (depending on region and call destination, including many states and Canada.) You get a $2 credit just for signing up, and if you use me as a reference, I get a credit on my account as well. :) (Drop me a line if you're interested! :)

(No need to switch any phone companies--you dial a local access number, then your desired number, and that's it. :)

I haven't had much use for this service since coming home from college--few to no people I was calling long-distance. However, after IMing Laura from midnight to 3, I dialed up to USAD to give her a call, and we chatted for an hour. She's just as nice and interesting on the phone as online, which is really cool. :)

How Far Is It?

Indo.com (Bali and Indonesia on the Net) has a Distance Calculator that calculates the great circle distance* between any two cities (or coordinates) in the world!

* Shortest distance** along the surface of a sphere.
** For the geometrically inclined: The length of the arc segment between the two cities, along the circle defined by the intersection of the plane containing the cities and the earth center, and the spherical shell of the earth's surface. :)

Also, from [livejournal.com profile] elkman, the Great Circle Mapper. Not quite as user-friendly as the first link, as it requires airport codes or Lat/Long, but more technical, more relevant to actual flight paths, and displays the routes. :)

Terrifying! Tasty!

Goldfish Colors

First thing I've had to eat today, too, after getting up around 2pm. :)
