So, I decided that rather than go to bed around 11 or 12 or even 1 (to get up at 7 well-rested), it was high time I scanned in my sheet of celtic knotwork (drawn in high school, lost for a few years, found last month), broke the full image into zoomed-in bits, and created an image map linking the full image to the zoomed-in bits, embedded in a web page.

Technical stuff about image maps )

Half-hour later: Go me! The map works, all files are suitably updated and uploaded, and I rock. So, without further ado..

~5.5 hours later, I'm 64.3MB into the 96MB download of Turin Brakes's new album, and headed off to work. Good thing I'm not at the computer for most of this. :)

Work was very slow--I think at one point in the afternoon, there were fewer than five customers in the whole store. Employees outnumbered them. The koi pond is stocked now, and it's a bitch to catch koi with a pair of fish-tank-style nets.

My mom switched AOL screennames to hers around 10:40, which interrupted my Turin Brakes transfer--so, I've still 2+ songs to go after reconnecting through Putty (SSH), then WS_FTP, canceling the interrupted transfer 'cause it was freezing the FTP prog, and restarting those three files.

A friend or two are having some hard times.

And, I'm hungry. Forgot my poptarts on the way out the door this morning, and two mini-Baby Ruth candy bars are a poor substitute. :P

    And because I'm boastful/prideful/a terrible sinner, y'all should check out my Celtic Knotwork, because I think they're cool and spent a lot of time drawing them (in high school) and scanning/editing/coding/posting them (last night).

    Celtic Knotwork!

    =)

    Also, there's a remarkable thunderstorm brewing outside. Hope the power doesn't go out! Or if it does, I hope it has the decency to wait until after I finish my file transfer(s).

    So of the 117 people who own the 127 individual journals on my friends list, I've met in person (and/or know well) 86* of them. 74%*, yo.

    * 87 if I count myself, still 74% by rounding. :)

    Speaking of who I know, because I know Esther, we both went to Cornell, and she's on the Cornell Club of Maryland mailing list, I'm accompanying her to:

    Itinerary )

    Of course, this means getting up around 6:15 and leaving Manassas around 7:15 to be in Rockville, MD by about 8:15, in order to assure arrival in Baltimore by 9:15. Boo! But for good reason. :)
