I probably just upped the count of birthdays recorded in my Visor--over 400 already, you may recall--by about 10, adding LJ friends' birthdays that I'd neglected when I added them as friends.

Also, [livejournal.com profile] classytart is as quick on the comments as I am! Crazy.

Borrowed the space heater from Steph & Matt's basement, to ensure my bird doesn't get sick/stressed from the low house temps. Was intrigued by the finding that the heater's plug was party burned to the extension cord, though the heater seems undamaged. Worked fine there.

Also, worked fine at first, here at home. Then it stopped. Power light on, no [hot hot] heat/fan action. Confusing. Then I shook it around a bit, and (I suppose) the tip-over safety switch came unstuck and it's working fine now. I feel better for my bird's sake now. :)

(11:56: Make that 107!)

Worked 12-8, got home around 10:30. Details follow.

But first, the aforementioned catch-up. And a couple links, courtesy [livejournal.com profile] atheist and [livejournal.com profile] xviragox:

Disagree with DeLay, get charged with treason.
Depressing and scary. Summary here. Regardless of how Godded-up you might like this country to be, this should scare you, too.

So I guess it's no longer enough to appoint judges who seem to hold the same views as the appointers...now we have to 'intimidate' them to make sure they stay under the majority's thumb. I'm certain that this is exactly what is meant by 'checks and balances.'
