Happy birthday, evileggVictoria (whose name took some work to find, at some point) and [livejournal.com profile] evelynne (whose name I still don't know, and only know it's her birthday because [livejournal.com profile] evilegg mentioned it)! :)

Some of you have probably noticed I'm pretty good at remembering to post about (or email or IM as the case may be) people's birthdays and anniversaries. As my memory's far from good enough to actually keep track, I rely on my PDA to remember them for me. I was curious just how many birthdays and anniversaries I have recorded therein, so I went through and counted..

394. Yup.

The monthly breakdown and a few statistics )

In 1996, Addi Somekh and Charlie Eckert began traveling to different places in the world to make balloon hats for people and take photos of them. The goal was to show people all over the world laughing and having fun, and to emphasize the fact that all human beings are born with the ability to experience joy. In total, they visited 34 countries and have over 10,000 pictures.

Inside this web site you will find all sorts of photos and stories, as well as news about their new book, The Inflatable Crown, and their 2003 Calendar.

Have fun!

Bringing people together through balloon hats. Who'da thunk it? :)

Apparently the Honda/Kawasaki dealer across town where I took my wheel for tire mounting sells Joe Rocket gear, and is having a "20% off all accessories" deal post-Thanksgiving.. so mom took me there for birthday/xmas shopping. On order are riding pants and boots, in hand is a new, better bike cover. Woo! I'll actually be warm and protected, moreso than jeans and Docs can provide!

  • Work 7am-2pm
  • Go visit Esther in Rockville for a couple hours, as she's only home in the States until Thursday, then flying back to Israel for the rest of the school year.
  • Buy macaw, cage, and supplies before store closes at 9, because Tuesday and Wednesday are the "30% off for employees" days. My mother says it's financially inadvisable--not saving money and all--but I've wanted the bird for several months now, and buying it now is the best option financially, if I plan to get it anyway. (Her suggestions included "wait until you're in your own place" and "wait until the last day you work at the store", but a) that would mean I couldn't get this particular bird 'cause he'll be transferred to another store, and b) I'd only get 15% even if he was still around.)

I've been listening to music on my computer via headphones sometimes lately, rather than speakers.. it's just a different feel, picking up different nuances of the music. Good stuff.
