To start the evening, we launched off some more bottles, then played with the dump bucket (containing A, B, and C) for a while--burned nicely, splashes burned, Nick tried for a backdraft effect with a bucket but failed.. Nick also has devil stick with flaming ends, which looked pretty cool. :)
Then we got some oxidizer, which didn't live up to expectations.. spontaneous ignitions didn't happen (just got hot and bubbled) with one mix; other mixes were difficult to ignite if not impossible, so we eventually reverted to charcoal starter fluid, and lots of it, added repeatedly along with more chemicals and household products--eventually got some nice purple sparkly flames. Then we added wood and had a mini-bonfire. Then we cleaned up. Justin and Bryan are thinking of founding a Future Pyromaniacs/-technics of America club; entirely unofficially, of course. :)
Tomorrow, perhaps more ingredients, perhaps a potato cannon. Likely the latter, in fact.
What better ways to spend lazy summer evenings in college? ;)

And then..

I returned to my computer, caught up on new email and LJ, and wandered back downstairs.. had some Ramen, was joined by Bryan for the same (after I left a 72-pt. "POW!" open in notepad on his laptop while he was away from it), and I later had a peach milkshake; during this food and after, Bryan and I chatted about house stuff, computer stuff, and other random stuff for about an hour and a half--I think I'll go to bed now. :)

Potato!

Bryan found a site with some really impressive equipment.. from a guy who apparently makes potato/tennis ball/t-shirt cannons in his spare time, for profit. Here's his site, the Spudgun Technology Center, including the Mega-Launcher, the bolt-action Tennis Ball Launcher, and the hand-held, laser-guided bolt-action aluminum SP9004 Potato Rifle, of which only one was made. Also features instructions to make your own Spudgun, PVC rockets, and assorted other fun, mildly alarming inventions. :)

Spudgun complete! PVC adhesive drying until tomorrow; will probably go find safe firing location later.

Also! While at Wegmans to buy potatoes, we bought lunch and passed a refrigerator case of Pepsi Blue: Berry Cola Fusion, so we (Justin, Bryan, and I) each had to get one of these exciting new drinks. It's probably one of the best Pepsi products I've tried. :)

Being a Virginian, I really like this song, too. :)
