Hung out with David Rosenthal for many an hour, at his friend Juan's place (for whom he's house-sitting).. chatted, had some drinks, ordered Chinese, and watched A Beautiful Mind again.. quite a different viewing the second time, but no less striking. The little clues and details you notice when you know what's going on.. impressive.
And now home, caught up on over 30 LJ posts (in about 8 hours), a bit of email, and soon to sleep, perhaps.
G'night, all..

Comics all read now, LJ comments replied to, few emails sent, some contact info updated.
And sleep soon, though I'm not particularly tired. G'night for real this time :)

The Things Skippy's Fans are No Longer Allowed to Do in the Military, Anywhere!

11. Do not attempt to shave with fire.
19. Do not conduct live fire exercises at the general's (unattended) jeep, even if it’s parked in an area clearly marked as "Live Fire Zone".
20. Do not glue magnets to LT’s compasses.
36. Combining blanks and cleaning rods in the M16A2 rifle is not an acceptable means of acquiring "meat for the tribe." It should be noted it's a bitch unpinning a squirrel from a tree and you NEVER get your cleaning rod back.
40. It is advisable to LEARN to drive a vehicle, before claiming to be able to do so. Particularly in the case of anything that can achieve flight.
61. Never tell a military pilot "There’s not enough room to fly under that!", unless you want him to try.
64. One should not enter the words "Gross Stupidity" in a military flight/maintenance log. Same goes for "Pilot Malfunction".

Posted my resume at HotJobs.com, applied online for one of the returned job listings.
Attempted to post my resume at FlipDog.com, but get an error every time I try to log in or sign up.

Also, got the appropriate paperwork filled out at the Grad Records office to get my CitiBank loan deferred by three months.

Update, 5:33: Also, forwarded my resume to my friend Nathan, and to my house's alumni mailing list.

Hey, while I'm at it.. I'm a soon-to-be-grad (Master of Engineering) in mechanical engineering, specializing in dynamics and control systems. I'm
looking for a full-time position in mechanical engineering, control systems, and/or robotics engineering, and would like to be able to start (or at least relocate) by mid-August 2002.

If your company has any positions available which might be a good match for me, or you have any contacts that might prove useful, please forward my resume or contact me directly. Thanks in advance!

Oh yeah..

I keep forgetting that I'm an ASME member, and that they're a fabulous resource for finding a job in mechanical engineering. My resume is now posted with them as well.

(Jon Peck asked if there was an organization like ACSU for MechEs, and indeed there is--only better, because ASME is national where ACSU is just for Cornell CS undergrads.)

Update, 10:57p: They don't have any posted jobs in the US for which I'm qualified and interested, but at least my resume's available for companies that are looking. :)
