Courtesy of Sean's digital camera.. I think I took a few of my own, but they're still in my camera, or something. :)

Went to the Death of ResNet* BBQ down at Stewart Park today.. started off as a brisk, windy day, with maybe half of the student consultants present.. threw around some baseball, football, and frisbee, while one guy started the grilling. I've now had both bison and ostrich burgers, and I gotta say that ostrich is tasty. :) (Both strange meats courtesy of MScott, our supervisor. :)
Then a freight train came through, so we had it squash a few coins, and then chatted with an older guy who appeared with tales of his days as a boy squashing everything metal they could find with passing trains. :)

* ResNet (network tech support) is being absorbed into the regular HelpDesk, and all our fun and freedom and responsibility is going away into the quagmire of the HelpDesk conglomerate.. sad, really, and I'm not sure how many current employees are going to want to come back next year.

..stopped being fun a long time ago. Still have to push it through to something resembling completion, though, since I want to pass the class.
This software is a pain in the ass to use, and it's the easier package of the ones available. It's not easy when the software displays components of the model incorrectly, yet otherwise handles them as if they were in the right place.

Both models for my FEA projects are pretty much complete as far as geometry and meshing are concerned.. now just need to assign some material properties, boundary conditions, and loading, and run some analyses. Whee.

But since I've made some progress (and emailed the prof again, not asking for an extension, but indicating that I'm still working on it, and had to revise my model again), I think I'll go find some food.

Have chosen material properties and assigned them to various parts of my snowboard model.. next, to model the boundary conditions.. after a snack of some sort. And more music.
