Movie, bar, APO, etc.

Movie: From Hell. -Very- well done, good story, excellent acting from Johnny Depp, decent from Heather Graham. Was showing at Uris through Sunday, decided to see it tonight.

After, decided where to go, ended up at Chapter House (big surprise, eh?) and who should I run into?

APO! Gamma! Lots! Katherine Chin, in the same archway I ran into her at last Saturday, and at a table in the back room, Kevin Ong, Alissa, John Azevedo, Marci, Ilan, Paul Chin, and later Mike Auerbach, Lenor Marquis, and Audrey.. excellent. :)

Damn ink.

I saw an ad in cornell.marketplace for an HP Deskjet 692C for $20.. 3 years old, basically unused, needs new ink cartridges. Sound great, right?

Yeah, except that cartridges for that printer are $50/ea. If I buy at 2for1Inkjet, it's $50/pair, but I'd still have to pay $100 to get color and black.

Such idleness!

Cornell's Gamma Chapter of APO turns 75 this month, and the birthday celebration was tonight.. catered dinner in Trillium, speeches by Jack McKenzie (nat'l prez), three alumni from the late 60s/early 70s, and the Keynote speaker, Bob Babcock--advisor, mentor, and friend to the chapter and everyone in it for the last 17 years.. he got a standing ovation after his speech, a shirt signed by every Gamma present, and a plaque.. he's leaving his advisorial position soon. :( (However, he won't be going far.. he just wants more unscheduled time, more time to run, like marathons all over the world--and he's 75 himself! :)
Then there was music and dancing, and I finished off the evening watching Simpsons episodes on the DJ's computer with some current Gammas, alums, and Jack McKenzie. *grin*

And now, off to join Tony's birthday party, already in progress. :)
