Big job, and I'm the one to do it.

So above my desk, which very few of you have seen, is/was a wide row of old mail, dating back as much as two or three years.. bills, invoices, letters, cards, ads, generally anything that wasn't crap at the time. However, as more accumulated, it started overfilling its space, and generally being inaccessible to boot. Hence, something has had to be done for a long time now.. so I got a file box and hanging files from Staples, and have started to sort, trashing envelopes, advertising, etc. and putting the rest in folders.

Cheap bike, stupid owner

Reported receiving a complaint from a student that an unknown individual(s) stole their Huffy 18 speed mountain bike and cable lock. Incident occurred between 1900 hours on 02/06/02 and 1200 hours on 02/07/02. Report is inactive.
Value: $105.00

The lesson here? Don't leave your damn bike at the library overnight. Or use a cheap lock. Or buy Huffy, because they suck, but that's more "reading between the lines". :)

Where previously there was a shelf over my desk overstuffed full of mail (20" across), there's now 13" of open space, a few inches of personal mail, about an inch of unfiled commercial mail, and a box full of neatly filed commercial mail elsewhere in the room. And several pounds of recyclable paper, encompassing a volume larger than a basketball.

(Also filed class papers into binders and did my laundry yesterday, and cleaned the ferret cage today. :)

Ah, crap.

Since Alex has been using my printer a lot lately, and it ran out of ink, I asked if he wouldn't mind getting me more, for an Epson Stylus Color 440.

So he did, it arrived by UPS today.

The problem is, I didn't check my model #--I have a 400, and while the cartridge is exactly the same size, it doesn't work in my printer. I'll give it a few hours and see if maybe the ink just hasn't settled down to the print head, but if that doesn't work, well, crap.
