I idly kept a tally of who went at least a little out of their way to acknowledge my birthday (without a reminder) on or around 12/5.. some several times. (*ahem* ;)

Are you among the masses? Or want to be amused? )

Mm, tasty.

1am snack. Out of bread, but had tortillas. Had frozen chicken breast patties, but out of ham, so no chicken cordon bleu sandwiches anyway.

But with a little creativity, a very simple and tasty dish was created anyhow.

Curious? )

  • Called the guy who hit my truck Wednesday to get his insurance policy #, left a message.
  • Attended my last class (EVAR! Well, not really. But last for the semester.)
  • Worked with Laurel to figure out the relevant mechanics and plan the code for the project/homework due Monday.
  • Received message from the guy--he says his company isn't Progressive, he's "not sure what it is, he'll figure that (and the policy # out) and call me later. Riiight.
  • Called FedEx, then emailed Built--so they can call FedEx and get my boots picked up.
  • Called APL/Visioneer to arrange exchange of wet scanner, left message.
  • Uh-oh..

So I stopped by Sears earlier, as one of the few places in town that sells new rims (since I need at least one, preferably a matched set, of replacement wheels on my truck.) Their estimate for new rims pretty much matching my current set ($86/ea), tires of the same line ($85/ea) and assorted labor (alignment, balancing, etc) totaled about $500.

I also checked UPS.com and discovered that it would be cheap to have my dad mail the extra wheel that's at home (came with the truck)--$15-$30, with the more expensive being 3-day Air. And this for a large, heavy tire!

Then called home, talked with dad, and decided the best course of action would be to try to settle outside of insurance with this guy (who, though apparently a nice guy, seems to be having issues with his insurance--like, possibly not having any) and left him a message to that effect.
Of course, there's the hard-line course of action if he delays more and/or refuses to pay damages.. namely, threatening to call the State Trooper back up and indicate that this guy lied about his insurance coverage, since insurance is absolutely required to drive a vehicle, with penalties including fines, forfeiture of registration, and suspension of license, depending on the severity of the transgression.

    Fun, eh?

Never got a call back from Visioneer customer service, either. Punks.
