And, a pretty fun afternoon.

Since the afforementioned show was sold out, Katia and I had no plans.. so, we accepted an invitation from Melissa (one of the girls living in the house this summer) to a BBQ out her her parents' place near Binghamton (about an hour away). Nice house, nice neighborhood, though the next big expensive house in either direction was about 20ft away. Hung out with Melissa, Josie, Shena, Beth, and Mike; opted for not using the hot tub which wouldn't get over 85F, and watched the nifty fireworks from her back porch. Then, we tried to get into a local bar, Casey's, which was having a Karaoke Night, but unfortunately they were carding everyone they didn't recognize (Melissa says this isn't the usual) so we couldn't get Mike or Josie in, so we didn't stay.

On the way out, my truck was thinking about overheating and this was a concern, because I was following Melissa's car and didn't know the way.. on the way back, they had to go back to her house to find her wallet first, so I took a simpler route back--also because if I had to stop, I wanted to be on the simple route. Got stopped for speeding on 96B coming back into Ithaca, too, but was let off with a warning.. was rather relieved.

Maybe tomorrow I'll actually call around to get someone to check out my truck's heating system. :P

Two good things

1) Finally called a shop to get my truck looked at, at 1030 tomorrow. Monro, rather than Bell's Auto Care, because my e-mails with MBell@bellsauto.com have been much less than satisfying.

2) Just got offered free dinner tonight by Becca, who made lasagne last night to bake for dinner tonight. I've realized that much of my choice in activities revolves around free food--receptions, company info sessions, parties, random get-togethers.. if there's free food, I'll most likely be there :)
