Man, that was too much effort. Since KaZaA didn't have the Stan Rogers song Sarah suggested (White Collar Holler), and she didn't know how to do an FTP transfer, she suggested AudioGalaxy, another music search/download program. It mandated that I download their crappy little program which demands further that you set a directory of files to share (oops, mine was empty!) and then it's a pain to use.

It does, however, have the song, which is a fabulous listen if you've ever played/coded with computers :)

Fun day!

So I went to meet Katia after work outside Olin around 5:15, walked down to Hill Drug to get her prescription filled (couldn't, because the student insurance computer system was apparently down--go figure--but they gave her a 2-day supply.) Walking back up, decided to stop at the Chinese place in ctown (amazing quantities of food for under $4), and decided to walk down Cascadilla Gorge to eat it. Stopped a good way down that gorge (which is posted as closed until December 14 due to Stewart Avenue bridge construction--that's right, the bridge is supposed to be closed until freaking December 14th--but isn't really, they just have protective scaffolding over the walkway under the bridge) to eat. Then, we continued down the trail to downtown, and then the Commons. Stopped to listen to a performing group outside Simeon's/Madeleine's--kinda of a lounge singer set, including (alternately) a woman and her father, which was pretty cool--and watch a couple dance to said music.
Then, we walked around the commons, checking out some ridiculous and over-priced sculptures, including a very entertaining one--basically a huge listening horn welded out of copper, titled "Talk and Listen". We then decided to stop for a beer, and spent an hour or two at Simeon's sampling their fine wares.
Round 1:
  • Me: Schenider Hefe-Weizen (Munich, Germany)
  • Katia: Blanche de Bruges White (West Flanders, Belgium)
    Round 2:
  • Me: Rodenbach Classic Red Ale (West Flanders, Belgium)
  • Her: La Fin du Monde (Québec, Canada)
(They didn't have any of the Spaten Franziskaner Weissbier cold, unfortunately. Wanted to try that one.) Oh, and Steph, they did have the red- and blue-label Chimays, but due to money and concerns, I didn't try the blue.
Then we walked back up to Collegetown (up Buffalo, that steep steep street, due to the damn Stewart closure) and took a blue-light bus right back to the house, and will probably be watching a movie later.

Go check out Three Dead Trolls in a Baggie. They're hilarious, they did the infamous "Welcome to the Internet Helpdesk" video, and they have 33 mp3s available for download and many more for streaming. =)

Hehe.. from their mailing list subscription form:
