Around 1445 I headed west to
standby_go's house, managing to follow his directions (with the assistance of a phone call before I lost signal altogether) from highway to very winding, hilly backroad, arriving at his townhouse in reasonably good time. A very nice townhouse he has, even if it is half an hour from a grocery store and further from a large city--fair-sized, nicely laid out, and pretty well-decorated for a single guy. :) We hung out at his place for a while, before heading up the road to Griffin's Tavern for dinner and drink, before returning to his place for music--both his CD changer with a penchant for Bob Marley, Counting Crows, and Cranberries despite the profusion of jazz/blues in its cache, and the bodhrain, bongos, and hammered dulcimer in his lounge-y room upstairs--and drink and dessert. Ended up leaving around 1115, arriving safe and sound at home around 1230. Shame he lives so far out, really. :)
The hot item this Christmas: CSI: Forensic Facial Reconstruction Kit: Case #2 Blue Eyes! (via

Shiny! The Nintendo Entertainment Console, by a guy who got tired of all those Nintendo products lying around--NES, SNEStype2, N64, and Gamecube--and decided to pack them all into one unit. :) (via

SICAF Seoul 2003--ever seen animation done entirely in sand? It's rather impressive, and very peaceful. :) (19MB download a few clicks beyond the link.) (via
