SCRC, new comic, absentee voting, and great music

Rode out to Fast Eddie's for the biweekly SCRCFX meeting; good turnout, which made for a very frazzled new waitress. Made it most of the way home without encountering any rain--at least, not enough to merit stopping to don rain gear. :) Concluded that I should get a new pair of solid (non-mesh) riding pants before I ride in weather any cooler than the ~55ºF it was tonight. :P

I've gotten a few pieces of email lately regarding "voting by mail" or absentee voting, but only realized earlier today that I will, in fact, be out of town on business on November 2! Guess I should apply for an absentee ballot, eh?

I think you may be too late for that - I have an idea that Oct. 5th was the deadline. But definitely look into it.

Nope, that was the last day to register to vote, period. Assuming one is a registered voter in VA, "The absentee ballot application must be received in your local voter registration office by the Thursday before election day to receive a ballot by mail."

You could always just drive-in vote. Drive to the voting registration location, and vote there in person using absentee vote. (Fairfax county has it at the gov't center 3rd floor, forgot the room)
