In class today, the phrase "They hit them with a full frontal golf assault" was heard. How's that for corporate leverage?

Let's see, how to break this down..

First, the links with important content:

  • Via [livejournal.com profile] jude: I fault this president for not knowing what death is. He does not suffer the death of our twenty-one year olds who wanted to be what they could be. On the eve of D-day in 1944 General Eisenhower prayed to God for the lives of the young soldiers he knew were going to die. He knew what death was. Even in a justifiable war, a war not of choice but of necessity, a war of survival, the cost was almost more than Eisenhower could bear.
But this president does not know what death is. He hasn't the mind for it.

  • Oh, hell no. I'm all for baseball returning to DC--for the fans, not for myself--but not at the expense of the SE DC club district, including Nation and Edge.

    Then, the medium-frivolous links:

  • Whoa! New LJ Update page is slick.

  • Ooh, interesting: Why random.bml isn't so random, yet.

    Finally, the mostly-frivolous links:

  • Motorcyclist Arrested for Driving 205mph. Oops!

  • Hahaha! [livejournal.com profile] jedi_yoda makes an interesting request, Support responds in an equally delightful format. j_y posts about it here.

Dude, that Pittsburgh pic? That's my route to the airport. I had to drive to the airport twice on that Sunday. Luckily I always carry a map of the city in my car. (And they had it very, very clearly marked as closed.)

heh. The IBC bankrupcy hits close to home... that's my father's employer. He was a little surprised to hear about his company filing Chapter 11 through the newspaper and not internally.

    Yeah.

So how does "Bankruptcy protection" work? It seems like the company isn't closing up shop..
