Did you ever wonder what a conversation between lichen, germs, and an ant supercolony (not to mention Matthew Lesko) about getting to the center of a Tootsie Pop would be like? http://conversatron.com/convers.py?topic=103189&count=28 (And speaking of Matthew Lesko, and the Big F'ing State of Alaska.. :D)

Hehe! Via [livejournal.com profile] notjaffo: Transcripts of OnStar Service Conversations Not Selected for Commercials.
Customer: Perfect! That’s great, perfect. I’m going to need a car wash, too. Someplace discreet, if you know what I’m saying.
OnStar: Absolutely, sir. You and OnStar are speaking the same language.

From [livejournal.com profile] jazzfish: A bar of iridium. "Included are a bunch of pictures, a few movies, a table, 200,000 KeV and several things I have never done before." Also includes the phrase "three guano insane Russians" and a link to the guy's accidental ingestion of iridium.

Last night, I had a very detailed dream, focused around my parents' house, their neighbors' new fence, and a lot of lizards.

I walked with mom over to the Harrahs' (our backyard-side-neighbor), observing some nice big trees, autumn leaves, and a plastic yellow chain-between-wood-posts border around a play area in the other neighbors' back yard (but no big privacy fence like they recently installed.) We waited on the Harrahs' porch for them to get home; when they arrived--including Amanda and an unknown Asian friend--we chatted a bit, first about a guy up on a ladder that Melody Harrah saw and thought was me at first, and then about the trail they were building from their porch down through said play area. (During this time, I noticed that Tom had a license plate frame that said something about loving his wife, on their old pickup in garage.) Then, mom, Melody and I went down to sidewalk/curb by the play area, and discussed a school bus pickup area right there, marked by a sunken dirt area by the curb.

Later, I was near my parents' house, and spied a lizard outside. At first it looked like a leopard gecko, but when it crawled up my pants leg, I noticed it had a slender head like a monitor and a wide body like an agamid (uromastyx, agama, or bearded dragon, but no spikes.) I carried it around then inside to get camera, by which time it got pissy and escaped in the house. I immediately recaptured it and took it outside for a photo in the darkening evening. I got a photo, but then it ran around side of house to a den in the garden. I noticed that there were several lizards there, playing in a small waterfall above the den. I took several photos.

I went back inside for dinner( and noticed an arched pile of Ziploc bags in the fridge, possibly containing rice), to feed their cat, and to discuss family plans for the next day--Nancy and Miguel were having a party in Gainesville, and Barbara/Steve were having a party Leesburg (where Chris and Misty live, but they don't--they're in Reston.) After dinner, I'd been planning on going to part of a party at Misty and Chris's house, but fell asleep, and overslept the next morning.
