TicketBastard

It seems that, since last I time I used it, TicketMaster has increased their level of Suck by several notches.

  • Ticket prices? Reasonable.
  • Service charge? Annoying to begin with, now just about doubled to $8.35.
  • Order Processing Charge? WTF is that? Another $4 on top of the "convenience," apparently.
  • Oh, and if I want my ticket automatically emailed to me by a machine, that's another $3.50, vs. a person having to actually print, handle, and hold a paper ticket for free.

Regardless, I'm going to see Evanescence, Seether, and Three Days Grace at Merriweather Saturday night with Christine and Erika. :D

Service charges are out of control. You'd think that whatever AMAZING, SUPER-SPACE-AGE equipment they are using to take your money and print your tickets would be paid for by now. And, really, is there an alternative? Isn't the convenience of paying for and having tickets part of the whole 'buying tickets to a concert' package?!

It's like when you get charged $10 for the privilege of having a phone in your hotel room, whether you use it or not. Worse, it's like tip jars at Baskin Robbins and other such establishments. I'm sorry, Ice Cream Person, I didn't realize that scooping my ice cream is not what you are being paid an hourly wage for.

I think they merit a tip if they somehow brighten my day--far above and beyond merely serving me ice cream. It's a rare occurrence. :)

One wonders how TM justifies their significant cost increase, though.

I agree, going above and beyond one's duties is tip-worthy. Friendly service to the best of one's ability is not in such an establishment, contrary to what many 16-yr olds seem to think. :-)

But it's the American Way! Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Easy Money!

...and the right to scowl and sulk during that pursuit!

when getting my tickets for Dracula's Ball I could have either ordered from ticketmaster or isotank.. I went with isotank.. much better

Unfortunately, most events don't have multiple online ticket sellers..

and fortunately for me, most of the events I go to are underground enough where ticketmaster wouldn't even know what the hell they are anyway.. :-)
