July 4th party @ Mo & Tony's

That was a perfectly delightful party. :) One month into their new apartment, on the 10th floor of an apartment building overlooking the Washington skyline and adjacent to a Metro station, Mo and Tony whipped up a July 4th party, featuring assorted friends from TJ, college(s), plus a few family members. Myself, Nathan, James Tsai, Katie Wanschura, Tony's twin brother Raf and other brother Alex, Mo and Tony's mothers, assorted people whose names I don't remember, and a cool guy named Tyson. (Tyson has been a rower, personal trainer, and actor, and rides a Ducati, which gave him plenty to talk to Nathan and me about. :)
The apartment is sweet. Not large, but a nice layout--particularly the balcony-turned-sunroom/office, from which we watched the fireworks over the Washington Mall, not to mention two smaller shows elsewhere on the horizon, flashes on the nearby water tower from another show, and nice illegal fireworks from behind a nearby building, while listening to the music broadcast from WTOP (NPR). Many tasty snacks--including chocolate-covered blueberries and four types of chocolate-covered coffee beans, plus some very tasty home-made dips for chips and crackers--and tasty drinks were consumed, much good music spewed forth from Tony's laptop's playlist, much interesting and intellectual conversation was had (including my regaling of both mothers with tales from Australia, and the evening finally ended with a read-through of most of Jack Handey's "Deep Thoughts" from here.
Apparently at some point in the evening, the following movie was discussed: Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle, which looks hilarious--check out the trailer!
And at some point, Tyson and I will go riding together on our respective Ducatis, since he lives all of about 15-20 minutes from me. :)
Oh yeah! While discussing our liberal politics and Moore's movie, I brought up a couple strips from Get Your War On, wherein I discovered that My New Fighting Technique Is Unstoppable and My New Filing Technique Is Unstoppable have been updated as well--I thought they were defunct with the advent of the new series! How wrong I was! (Also, a new strip exists--Adventures of Confessions of Saint Augustine Bear.) Note that I don't recommend reading any but GYWO and Fighting. :)
