At work today, I was one of the escorts for housekeeping, and got a free donut near the conference room. I also completed the Washington Post crossword puzzle, almost finished the NY Times puzzle, read a good bit of Proficient Motorcycling, and picked up healthy food for pets on the way home. (My bearded dragon ate the spinach leaves! I was pleasantly surprised. [He also ate 21 crickets and four superworms--might've been hungry. :) ]) And then, I finally put up the desert background on his cage, which I bought at least a month ago. :)

nb: In my last post, I misinterpreted Amy's post about the Affirmation of Marriage Act in VA and Warner's proposed revisions that would potentially retain some of the rights that the Act is trying to remove. Post updated, and [livejournal.com profile] iriantuu adds that Warner has vetoed the bill., and Warner hasn't vetoed it, just recommended revisions. (That post also has an interesting bit about parents "exposing themselves" to a nudist camp under discussion. :D)

I'm not trying to be rude, but that being said, I'd rather risk being rude for the sake of truth -- especially regarding politics -- and not let this go on when I could set the facts straight -- and even point you towards source material. It's very important that the facts on this matter be set straight.

While I'm glad you corrected what you wrote to more accurately reflect what I had written. However, what [livejournal.com profile] iriantuu said, and what you quoted him as saying, is again, not true -- which is why I questioned/corrected him in the post that you link to. Governor Warner did not veto the bill -- he recommended changes without signing or vetoing the bill. That's what is currently being debated, that's why I posted the content I did on said bill.

If you don't trust me, or would like the most accurate, up-to-date information, I suggest you track the bill itself via the Virginia Legislation Information site. According to said site, the most recent action taken with HB 751 is:

04/15/04 House: Governor's recommendation received by House

Justin knew something was up with the bill, but he didn't have his facts straight.

Don't believe everything you read on the internet.
