..and then there's investigative journalism. From The Wave ("The Bay Area's Best Entertainment Magazine... Ever") we have Blind Date, Leiderhosen, and Me: Deep inside the world of reality dating shows.
People don’t tune in to see true romance, but to see people FAIL and/or look STUPID! (and occasionally “get busy”). Reality dating shows aren’t about true romance; they’re about making good television. And I think it can be agreed that I make good television. That’s why I must infiltrate Blind Date.

Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] skamille for this, uh, enlightening story. :)

Mmm, seanbaby. One of the many sites that I know exist and are very entertaining, but that I never visit.

I don't think you understand. He didn't do anything that was significantly more outlandish then joe average "blind date" episode.

Back when I had a TV, "blind date" was one of my favorite shows.

Its no fun to watch alone though. You gotta have a bunch of people sitting aorund the TV, drinking beer, and making up your own little thought baloons (cause usually the ones the show puts up just aren't that funny. sometimes they get lucky, however)

I doubt that many men go to quite those lengths to fuck with the show.. and in this case, it seems like he missed out on a potentially nice/interesting/pretty girl in favor of outlandishness. As someone who hasn't had much of a chance with anyone in months, I'm annoyed on principle. ;)
