To you, perhaps, but there are -plenty- of LJers who think it's a great idea, I guarantee it. And why not? It's a highly customizable electronic format which would, in some styles, carry over well to paper--and a lot of people would keep a paper journal if it were more convenient. (This isn't the first company that's offered such a service, but it seems to be the best one so far.)

That said, I have no intention of getting a bound printout of my ~4000 entries.
