Well, that's unfortunate--a blackout ranging from NYC to Detroit to Toronto, cause yet unknown.

Work was interesting--leaned about Fence Protection Systems today, and will get to wire one from scratch tomorrow (with one of the guys from Training who's learning to -be- a trainer; we're learning from a tech 4. (I also learned that he used to be a tech 5, before getting kicked out of China through no fault of his own or his party, simply miscommunicaiton. :P) Went out to lunch with Nadine, Rick, and another guy, to Baja Fresh--it was all right, but I'll have to ask for No Cilantro next time. :P Chatted with one of the newer techs--only here since May, was in the incoming class with Nadine and one other guy still in town. The other members of the class are already out of country--one of them to Brazil w/in a week of training completion--the other guy is going to Barbados soon, and Nadine's soon to be on her way. If my class's members are put on a similar track, I could be traveling as soon as November-ish! Freaky.

After work, I headed out to find the Petsmart by Springfield Mall, and did so with little trouble--and I'm getting better at navigating the roads around the mall! It's weird shopping at another Petsmart after working at one for 10 months, seeing how it's laid out, what supplies they carry, how their animals are housed--their aquarium section is nicer, larger, and more advanced than ours (including and automatic system status check), with built-in rolling ladders to reach the upper tanks.

My beardie and agama are quite pleased to get their crickets--especially the beardie, who's always hungry--and I got more crested gecko food, a tiny corner litter pan to put in the 3rd corner of the ferret cage, and a bag of Totally Ferret (the food they were eating most recently at Misty's, which seemed to agree with Sylvie better.)

I just recently learned that there's to be family dinner at the parents' house tonight, and at Steph&Matt's tomorrow night, so perhaps I'll head over there after calling for details. :)

Update: Nah, it's just normal dinner tonight, but tomorrow is BBQ-style, so I'll go for that. :)

Also, if you regularly use the Springfield Interchange (particularly I-95N/I-395N), be adivsed that there will be significant delays due to overpass construction on Aug 16-17 & 23-24.

you only know these things..

It is the True.

I believe I shall pass on tonight's standard dinner, and attend tomorrows BBQ-style event. :)

It just spoils the meal!

Much like too much dill--fine in moderation--which my ex Katia adored. She only used a little in our shared meals, though. :)

I, too, cannot take a large amount of dill.

Just the smell of cilantro makes me feel icky.
