Slovenian woman rides around the world solo on BMW F650. She wasn't going for speed, either--took a few years, a very circuitous route, and accumulated some amazing new experiences along the way. Be impressed, and be sure to check out the photography--from 74 different countries on every continent. :) (From motorcycles)
For V Day, from Steph & Matt, I got a box of Reeses Cups, a box of a single large Reeses heart, and a two-pack of movies--Stir of Echoes (Kevin Bacon, Thriller/Horror, "In every mind there is a door that has never been opened") and The Ninth Gate (Johnny Depp, Horror/Thriller, "Leave the unknown alone"). Watched Stir of Echoes last night with parents; it was pretty good. Will watch the other eventually.
Today, worked 11-7:30, free Pizza Hut pizza! Woo!
Caught part of the Grammys during dinner.. eh. Pop is nondescript, rap sucks, I still like John Mayer, and my mom didn't think Dixie Chicks should've won for Country (but I forget who she wanted to win--a particular guy.)
Noticed that due to a recent code change, mutual friends on one's "friend of" list are no longer bolded, which sucks--though they're sitll bolded on all -other- userinfo pages, so it doesn't even make sense from a "Database load decrease" standpoint. Don't yet know if it was intentional or a side-effect.
I took it one step further and adapted one of her photos for my wallpaper ... only problem was the original was at a weird angle, so I photoshopped it up. Works with a black background at 1024x768.
Photoshop, ha.. I have a copy on CDR somewhere, but I use Paint and Photo Editor to play with my images. :)
Easy enough to straighten images, yeah.. but come to think of it, when I take angled pictures, my intent isn't to have a tilted viewing, but simply to frame what I want and view the photo tilted as you've done for your background.
Yes, yes, I know. I have, in fact, downloaded the Gimp, which was a pain--I want one file, clearly marked, to download, which gimp.org doesn't provide. Three downloads later, I have things sitting on my desktop that, in all likelihood, will sit there for months before I get around to installing them.
