(Ooh, suppose I could run Trillian again. Maybe.)

Caught up on new email (via mail2web, before I installed tbird); only ~100 LJ entries and a day of comics behind. :P
(And yes, it's after 03. I fired up a download or two, then fell asleep for a while, then woke up around 0230, took out contacts, continued tweaking. Shame the 8 of us in the class agreed to come in at 08 instead of the usual 09...)

Incidentally, there's a guy from New Yawk in the class, and one from the UK--England, I think. Solid accents both. :) And then there's Tim, who's 6'8". And the instructor is, shall we say, new to instructing. (He's an IT guy, I think, and is being overseen by a guy with much more experience with these systems.) The instructor (Kenton) is also kind of skinny and gawky, with bleached blond spiky hair, and is a bassist in a Christian rock band. This is rather incongruous with his demeanor, overall.

Also, Matt suggested (wisely) that I buy AppleCare to extend my warranty coverage by a couple years. Sounds like sound advice to me.

2nd and last day of customer-level class for the Big Honkin' Library (but not the Biggest Honkin'est, which is being EOLed.) Got a 100% on the 50-question test, go me! Next three days, service-level class, which promises to be an extended PitA.

Guys! Check out the Scrotal Safety Commission! Your well-being may depend on it!

Via [livejournal.com profile] subbes: Druggists refuse to give out pill. The American Pharmacists Association, with 50,000 members, has a policy that says druggists can refuse to fill prescriptions if they object on moral grounds, but they must make arrangements so a patient can still get the pills. Yet some pharmacists have refused to hand the prescription to another druggist to fill. One even refused to give the slip back! This is wrong, folks--especially when a good number of women are taking the pill for hormonal--not contraceptive--reasons.
