notjaffo: I'm still taking it from both sides this year. Republican friends are disappointed that I'm not a clear Republican. Democratic friends are disappointed that I'm not a clear Democrat. And Libertarian friends are annoyed because I think their candidate was a tinfoil-clad nutjob.

I could not endorse Bush because I have serious doubts about his foreign policy. I could not endorse Kerry because I have serious doubts about his domestic policy. And I could not endorse Badnarik because I believe he would govern based on secret messages decoded from Beatle albums.

There is one good thing about being completely disenfranchised. I have the freedom to mock all sides, indiscriminately, and with whatever force I feel is appropriate. I can compare Dick Cheney to Senator Palpatine and still link pictures of Kerry looking like a dork.

Long day at work, post-work, & links!

Long day at work--we were in class from 9-6, and still didn't get "Lab 1: Installation" done. More problems with the tape libraries than expected, which made the installations take much longer than expected--and the instructor had hoped to get through installation, firmware upgrades, log capturing, and FRU replacement today, followed by remote management, troubleshooting, and the test tomorrow. Looks like tomorrow will be a busy day..

Returned to the hotel via a new route--new both to me and to actual availability, since one of the connecting roads only opened a couple weeks ago--but didn't like it. Simpler, yes, but with far more stop lights. Stopped by the bar for a drink and snacks, left Rainie a message, and have no further plans for the evening. Might watch a movie.
