Short day, nasty weather and traffic

Oooh. Via notjaffo: Two of the seven million-dollar challenges that have baffled for more than a century may be close to being solved

Work today:
09-10: Drive to Lockheed Martin in Rockville, sucky traffic.
10-12: Observe firmware upgrade.
12-13: Applebee's for lunch.
13-1415ish: Additional hardware changeout and drive config for one of yesterday's sites.
1415ish-1530: Drive home. On the way, overhear a tornado warning for Fairfax/Falls Church/Tysons/ Corner/Wolf Trap, right where we're heading. Consider stopping at office. Pass through some heavy rain. Hear tornado warning has moved on to Rockville/DC (where we just left)--we figure the heavy rain was the same storm. (Also, funnel cloud sighted out in Warrenton.) Pass one serious accident (car tore off the guard rail barrier at one of those highway crossovers) and one minor accident (car clipped towed motorcycle trailer, bikes seemed fine,) both of which slowed traffic terribly. (Rob and I were in separate vehicles, and exchanged several phone calls. :)

Hurray for short days. :D

Cute girls at D*C

partywhipple is awesome. I can't guarantee that he got a picture of every cute girl at Dragon*Con, but he certainly made a good effort. (Only 210 photos up so far, of the 400+ he took at the con. Check back for more, or follow out his journal!)


Also, Nathan brought home McD's again. Yay!
