Got up around noon, went out to lunch with Nathan--back from his trip--to the Tokyo Inn Japanese restaurant, where I had a nice Lunch Box and he had a flotilla of sushi on a Sushi Boat, a personal challenge to finish it all. He was up to the challenge. :)

I then hooked up the new wireless router which, unlike its predecessor, actually worked. (I chained it through the existing router, so as not to interfere with the desktops' connections; however, this also meant that I had to wire the laptop to the new router to configure it, because I couldn't access it through the first router. Bah!)

Then, because Nathan signed up Blockbuster's Netflix-style rental program, we watched Eurotrip (the unrated version! ooh!), followed by a run to Blockbuster to get Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, which neither of us had seen. While watching that, we decided to go see Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban at 2245 at Springfield Mall, and that's what we did. (Why Nathan takes Rolling Road to Franconia-Springfield Parkway to get to and from the mall, I've yet to figure out--it's longer than either route I take.) Movie was very good, as was the movie-going experience even if some of the audience's laughter was raucous and the sound was a bit dodgy for a while. Go see it! :)

Over the weekend: Résumé work, partying with [livejournal.com profile] baranoouji, and whatever else comes along. :)

In celebration of [livejournal.com profile] baranoouji's birthday, a few of us (Ederlyn, Duffy, Jenna, and one of their friends) gathered at the British Pantry & Blighty's Cafe in Chantilly, which is a delightful little stop on the wayside of Route 50 in Virginia, chock full of British imports for sale and mail order, with a tearoom attached (and next door to a British car repair shop.)

We all had a grand old time, including tea, sandwiches (cucumber, ham&tomato, smoked salmon, and egg salad), biscuits scones with strawberry jam and clotted cream, and an assortment of tarts and cookies biscuits. Many photos were taken, which I'll offload and post later.

This evening, steampunk movies with the above folks (and more!) at Duffy's in Reston. :)

I don't like all this rain and storminess--I want to ride! Alas, all that's in the local forecast is rain and thunderstorms. I need to live in the Southwest, apparently--lots of sun, not much rain!
