Almost four complete crosswords, leftover Japanese and pizza for lunch, dinner with Ash later. :)

From [livejournal.com profile] xviragox: "Bad, bad Rumsfeld. Shame on you. By the way, you're doing a superb job."
Is this an administration, or a bad SNL skit?

From [livejournal.com profile] motorcycles, southern CT: R.I. Man Charged in Fatal Crash, 3 Hit&Runs I'm amazed this driver could make it to the grocery store without hitting someone, and I'm quite glad he's off the road.

From [livejournal.com profile] atheist: For better mental and cultural health, it's time we classified religious fundamentalism as a psychological disorder. (Not all religion, mind, just fundamentalism.)

From CNN.com, sticking it to The Man:
  • Legislation that could undo some key portions of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act.
  • Cutting calling costs with Wi-Fi phones

Finally took out the trash--we've both forgotten for the last couple weeks of trash days or so, adding up to one stuffed 30gal and 3 regular kitchen-size bags--and got a followup-to-after-work-discussion call from Ash about evening plans; he picked me up around 8 (or 7, if we go by his still-Texas-time watch) to head out to dinner. We ended up at On the Border, where we had good food with inattentive service--waited too long for water, salsa, chips, napkins, and meals, as well as the wrong meat in Ash's burrito, meaning a) he got them to drop his meal from the bill, and b) lousy tip. At least the food was good, as were the large margarita/sangria swirls. :)

Oh, and just so you know, "sweet & chili" is a terrible flavor for candy, such that I didn't persevere to see if tamarind was better--Ash presented me with one such Mexican candy, tamarind-filled Rellerindos, on our way to dinner. He plans to torture as many people as he can with his pack of candies. :P

    Uncle Andy’s Fun Afterlife
Twenty years later, dead or alive, will Andy Kaufman return?

I've never read much about Kaufman previously.. quite a guy, quite a comedian.

Also, recent DC-area cicada photos by [livejournal.com profile] tracytracy in [livejournal.com profile] washingtondc. :)
