Easter: Entenmann's, family, movies, bike work

Why on earth do I have 85 posts on my friends page since 9am Easter morning?

Personally, I've been away from my computer all day. At 0945 I left for Manassas, stopping at two Giants and a Shoppers in a quest for Entenmann's Carb-Counters coffee cake, and ended with their pound cake and chocolate chip loaf instead, which were acceptable substitutes. (I also discovered that either Entenmann's or the grocery stores are responsible for Entenmann's products being difficult to locate in the store--either with the bread, the donuts/pastries, entirely separate--say, by the dairy--or multiple of the above. :P)

Attended to easter baskets--I got a DVD of Willow, David Hough's Proficient Motorcycling and More Proficient Motorcycling, and an assortment of chocolates and peanut butter eggs; Brendan got a short basketball set which amused him to no end. :) We then had a tasty low-carb brunch, and Matt/Shauna/dad/I watched a couple hours of the original Battlestar Galactica, which I'd never seen. I removed the seat and fuel tank from my old bike, drained most of the fuel out, and then dad and I went back in for a tasty dinner of artichokes, spiral-sliced ham, roast asparagus, and rice, followed by a viewing of Bruce Almighty--or maybe that was before motorcycle work, I forget--and around 9:15, a parents&Scott viewing of The Missing, which was very good.

And now I'm home, all those posts and some comics to catch up on, and then not enough sleep. Huzzah!

Update, 0130: Caught up! (Also, bought a Mall Monkeys CD and paid for an eBay auction I won as the sole bidder. :) Time for sleep!

(But I leave you with this: Zombie Lord Jesus Christ arises in 2637, results in Easter as we know it. :D)

Mice play, Graydon's believe system, and speeding retort

The cat's away at work--both lab managers are out, and most of the team leaders left for Baghdad, leaving a friendly and laid-back team leader in charge for a couple days. :)

Via [livejournal.com profile] jazzfish:
Graydon: I believe that man is the augmentation of dust, and that death ends all but memory. I believe in the sufficiency of chance, the inescapability of time, and the interconnectedness of all things. I believe that defeat is permanent, and victory ephemeral.

I believe in the effort of listening, and the practise of stillness; that peace is better than war, and that war is better than submission. I believe permanence is an illusion of scale, and that knowledge is an illusion of history which works anyway.

I believe that what makes me like myself less, I should not do.
