Motorcycle goodness, despite the rain
Apr. 1st, 2004 01:16 amAs I rode to work today despite the intermittent drizzle, I went out for brief breaks with at least four different fellow employees today to show them my motorcycle, at their requests. :)
I also printed out the owner's manual for my bike from Ducati.com--89 half-pages, cut it down to size, bound it with a binder clip, and read through it. In doing so I learned various things I'd not know otherwise--the maintenance schedule, the bike-specific pre-trip checklist, the significance of some of the read-outs, and the location of the accessory outlet, among other things.
Just now (at 1am), I donned boots and coat, grabbed a towel and cover, and went out in the 45ºF rain to cover* my bike, since it looks like the rain won't be stopping anytime soon. Bah! Bah, I say! Fortunately, next weeks' forecast looks a lot more dry. :)
* The cover I have, designed for a cruiser like I had before, is far from a perfect fit, but works well enough if I only cover the important parts and don't try to stretch it over the wheels and hard cases.
Please vote for me. I only have one eye but I can see out of the other one just fine. I am not spooky. (Link courtesy of my darling sister, indeed. ;] )
