Went over to Jillian's around 3pm, met Oscar, hung out around the house watching a bit of cricket, drinking sangria, and watching a good bit of the local radio station Triple J's annual Top 100 Songs music video DVD compilation.. good stuff. "I'm a DJ" is particularly amusing, and I'll have to find it for my DJ friends. :)

Then we went shopping at Woolworth's, where we failed to find me a nice cookpot, and Video Ezy, where we failed to rent anything. Then we returned to their house, and biked back to my hotel around 7:30pm to lounge in the A/C and go for a swim in the hotel pool; after a bit of that we returned to their place, ran into their friend Dom on the front porch, put up Finding Nemo on the computer, and proceeded to assemble dumplings for steaming for dinner. (Shortly before dinner I got a call from Miguel, asking if I wanted to come into work tomorrow--the vote was at 2 No, 1 undecided, me, and another guy--so chances are, no work Saturday. :) After dinner the movie--excellent, of course--finished, Jillian left for work around 11, and I chatted with Oscar and Brooke (a housemate) about uni and rowing and jobs and whatnot until a bit after 1.

Now I'll throw on more suitable attire than shorts and sandals, head over to Insomnia, deliver the shirt Jillian requested, and have a good night. :)

Update, 2/20/04: Due to Nathan's unfamiliarity with my ferrets, I learned (when she was taken to the vet) that it was Bruno who died, not Sylvie. Needless to say, this came as a surprise.

Thus, edited post:
In less upbeat news, one of my ferrets, Bruno, passed away sometime New Year's Day. This is pretty surprising, as he's always been the healthy, active, rambunctious one, no health problems to date, though he was on the old side for a ferret (about 5). I'm sure I'd be more upset if I were at home, instead of having Nathan deal with it 10,000 miles away, but it's still sad.. no more Bruno. :-\

In less upbeat news, one of my ferrets, Sylvie, passed away sometime New Year's Day. She's been sick off and on, and she's on the old side for a ferret--about 5--but she had a good life, and was always the soft friendly cuddly one. I'm sure I'd be more upset if I were at home, instead of having Nathan deal with it 10,000 miles away, but it's still sad.. no more Sylvie. :-\

Oh yeah--one other thing we watched at Jillian's was Trey Parker's Cannibal! The Musical. It was very amusing. :)
