Work this morning was exciting, really. Escorting the uncleared cleaning lady around for three hours, as every tech has to do occasionally. Afternoon should be more interesting--team meeting for the Canberra trip. :D

From Status: "Users who are using the S1 style system may find that their journal style has been reset to the Default LiveJournal style. This was an unintentional bug that was introduced when developers were trying to fix another bug. You will have to re-select your preferred style now that it has been fixed."
(Thus, if your journal doesn't look like it should, go fix it. :)

From [livejournal.com profile] reabhecc:
  • Long Queue at the drive-in soup kitchen
George Bush's America, the wealthiest nation in history, faces a growing poverty crisis. In the first of a three-part series Julian Borger takes the pulse of the US with elections just a year away
  • Land where calling an ambulance is first step to bankruptcy
The second in a three-part series on Bush's America looks at the inflated hospital bills facing the uninsured poor

Team meeting was brief but cool--looks like a good team, and we'll be helping each other get ready for it. (whew!) I haven't formally met the 5th member--he's been off the last couple of days--but I'm sure I've seen him around.

After work, it took me a good 3x longer than it should have to get home, at which point I basically scrapped the idea of voting, for two reasons. First and less importantly, it would've meant another two miles of stopped traffic. Second and more importantly, the vote just seemed to have little point--the high-level positions were unopposed, the low-level (school board members and soil & water control officers, I think) have no impact on me and I know nothing of the candidates, and the only referendum (school budget) doesn't affect me and will certainly pass.

I then watched Nathan beat the end of Tony Hawk: Underground, had some food, watched a few episodes of the Simpsons (including Sunday's Halloween ep) and the series premiere of Arrested Development (entertaining!) and that's that. At lunchtime, I made a new friends filter featuring the journals and comms I want to follow when I have a limited connection--overseas, for example--which includes pretty much all the personal journals I was reading already (except inactive ones) and very few of the comms. Only 30 entries since lunchtime! ;)

In much lighter linkage: Three Dead Trolls in a Baggie have several more mp3s available for download!

Of the 50 songs on their site, 39 are available as mp3s, 11 of which I didn't have. (My total is now 48. :D)
