I think this speaks for itself, as a man I don't want running my country, or anywhere in its legislature:

QUESTION: "Thank you, sir. Mr. President, many of your supporters believe that homosexuality is immoral. They believe that it's been given too much acceptance in policy terms and culturally. As someone who's spoken out in strongly moral terms, what's your view on homosexuality?"

BUSH: "Yes, I am mindful that we're all sinners. And I caution those who may try to take the speck out of the neighbor's eye when they've got a log in their own. I think it's very important for our society to respect each individual, to welcome those with good hearts, to be a welcoming country. On the other hand, that does not mean that somebody like me needs to compromise on an issue such as marriage. And that's really where the issue is headed here in Washington, and that is the definition of marriage. I believe in the sanctity of marriage. I believe a marriage is between a man and a woman. And I think we ought to codify that one way or the other. And we've got lawyers looking at the best way to do that."

Becky's post, where I saw this, with some quality comments.

Went to Cue for the first time in a month, saw and/or hung out with Becky/Bob/Nick/Christine/Kangal/Paul/Alex/Alex'sFriend. The guest DJ from LA left something to be desired, like good music--he played some hip-hop, for crying out loud. He's some sort of non-club band-forming DJ, and I'll admit some of his stuff got people on the floor, but stick to the theme of the night, bud--it's pretty broad. Left around 0130--early, but the music (Paul, by that point) wasn't holding my interest and all my friends had left already. Paul's earlier set was great, though.

Also, I verified that my route from the Fairfax County Parkway to here is several minutes faster than the one Nathan's been using since he moved here a year and a half ago. :)

In April '02, Brian recommended the band Summer Rain to me, following a post including lyrics in his LJ.

Maud Dib 5: www.summerrainmusic.com
Maud Dib 5: I recommend the cigarette song
Maud Dib 5: and under the lights of the biggest city in the world
Maud Dib 5: and, if they have it, the sky and tomorrow

As for the song quoted, they are a kickass local band. You can find more at SummerRainMusic.com (I highly recommend checking them out). The BonePony song is also very good, and I'm fairly sure you can find something of theirs off of your friendly neighborhood mp3 fetching program. Let me know if you want to know more

I finally remembered/got around to checking them out today--now that I'm on broadband--and from the sound clips on their site, they are indeed quite good. However, I'm po', and ils n'existent pas on Kazaa. But they're good! You should check them out! :D
