Yesterday, got mail from
GLHEC (holders of my Key Alternative Loan), dated 1/27, saying "You're still delinquent on your January payment!". However, knowing I'd mailed a check on 1/22, I called their system, and it told me "Payment received 1/24!" So I talked to a person, and indeed, I'm not delinquent. You'd think, though, that three days would be enough time to cancel a "You're still late!" letter.
Worked 1-9, though it was only supposed to be 1-8. We got ridiculously busy in Aquatics around 5 or 6, and stayed that way until 9, including:
one guy who was friends with André (manager) and wanted some interesting, semi-agressive fish to accompany his parrotfish and gouramis; he got a Sydontis Eupterus and an African Butterfly, both of which are bizarre, wonderful fish. And if you tap the tank the African B is in, it briefly hops out of the water, every time. :)An amusing guy and his wife and kid, who was setting up a tank full of fish, probably bought too many--but wasn't clear on how many tanks he actually had--and wanted be to be on "his side" and "cut him a deal". He was amusing. :)An obnoxious set of family members that I can only classify as "po' white trash", except it was more behavioral than skin tone or affluence. The intelligence and comprehension just seemed sorely lacking in most of them, and they were bloody annoying and time-consuming. They, too, probably took too many fish.I was supposed to leave at 8, but right around then, Ray asked if I could stay a bit longer and feed the birds/animals, so I did, but between that and more customers, I didn't get out until around 9. Also, some ass (Billy, probably--he was the one who thought it'd be funny to take my hat/scarf) decided that my half-full bottle of Sierra Mist sitting in the fridge would benefit from the addition of half a cup of salad oil. F*cker.
Picked up my photos from WalMart*, which made me happy. Pictures from the
TJ'97 reunion a month ago, the dinner with assorted TJers and followup hanging-out at
Sarah's, Christmas (family pix), and my macaw. Many adorable. :)
* At WalMart, 2-day (which was 6-day, last time) for 25-exposure APS film runs $6.96. 1-hour runs $6.69 plus $0.17 per panoramic--or, I learned tonight (as had the clerk who helped me) that the first 1-hour developing is $6.69 regardless of panoramics. So, 1-hour inhouse is cheaper than 2+-day out-of-house.
Tomorrow, I'll apparently be driving my dad to pick
Shauna from
school, as his rear-right axle bearing failed on the way to work today, incapacitating his car at work. So, he'll return with her car, so that he can drive something until the Mustang is fixed. However, if it's fixed by Sunday evening and if Shauna's hip pain isn't preventing her from driving, she can just drive herself back then.
Stomatopods (mantis shrimp) are badass.( Why? )
