Yesterday, and on into today
Aug. 10th, 2002 04:35 pmHm.. my computer is inaccessible by VNC and I'm offline on AIM.. this does not bode well.
Anyway, got up around 8 or 9 yesterday, showered, ate, and wandered off to the appropriate bus stop. Took the 71 into Harvard Square, and started walking--not much map usage, just wandering. Started off headed East, came across Harvard Yard, took a look around, walked on. East more got me into Cambridge, where I happened upon BioGen, Beth's employer. Took the Longfellow Bridge across the Charles, ended up in Beacon Hill, a nice little area. Met a big dog outside a shop, continued over the hill. Stumbled across the Boston Common and its "Frog Pond"--an enormous wading pool with a fountain in the middle, open to the public, mostly small children. (It also freezes over into ice skating in the winter.)

'k, that was a little weird.
Aug. 10th, 2002 07:19 pmI called Neal (on Beth's cell phone--no additional charge for longdist, apparently--though I'd found the USA Datanet number for Watertown, MA) and asked him to HouseManagerKey his way into my room and check on my computer--it was off, for some reason. Had him power it back up a couple times, then it was ok.
The weird thing was that I recently changed my port and password from A and B to C and D so that Laurel could use a program through my computer--and I needed to log into my computer with A and B to log into Win2K; it then booted me off VNC and I had to them use C and D to get back into VNC after Windows was started. Odd.
Anyway, back to the party. :)

Aug. 10th, 2002 11:34 pmAt any rate, in the last several hours, I've partied, had four different Sam Adams, gone to "Lifestyles: The Adult Entertainment Superstore" with Beth, Rob, Liddy, Phil, and assorted other people I've forgotten, been amused by various porn videos and implements, returned home, met more people, had more drinks (a drink mix of Stoli Vanil, Applejack, Triple Sec, and Sprite, later a shot of 99 Berries, and then a lot of Sprite while chatting with some guy, Libby, and Mike), and came up here to play ona computer. No new email, though. Sad!
