CU beat Brown (of course), 2-0! And we're 1st in the Ivies at the moment! (And around 10th in the nation, which is pretty damn good too.)
Then we went to Dunbar's, where eventually the whole hockey team actually showed up.. funny thing is that Katia and Yanerys went to Dunbar's after every game they attended last year, and that never happened--she comes back for this weekend, and this game they show up. Maybe it's what they do on Saturday nights, vs. the Fridays (I think) that K&Y used to go. We sat in our corner booth and talked about (but not with) the rest of the bar's inhabitants--the hockey players who are local celebrities/gods, and the sorority chicks who flock to them--and after several pitchers of beer (of which I partook only two glasses, as I was tired and not terribly entertained by the bar--and their entire beer selection sucks), we came home. It's damn chilly out, 23 says the thermometer.

Also, Ellen seems mildly pleased by the Beatles mp3 CDs I sent her.. as she indicated in the 10 IMs she left, the e-mail with capital letters, the comment to another post of mine, and a post she made. *grin*

And now, on to the 30+ new friends posts I've gotten in the last 7 hours. :P

Oh, and this song is -really- good. Thanks, Phill. :)

I mentioned that I picked up half a dozen free CDs from WICB's table at Greek Peak yesterday. Well, here they are:

John Mayer - Room for Squares, plus limited edition live bonus CD
dredg - I don't even know, but it looks interesting
Andreas Johnson - Liebling (includes CD-Extra material)
Tenacious D - self-titled
Ithaca College Songwriters Circle - Apartments (18 tracks from 18 groups)
Phantom Planet - live (5 songs)

I don't even know who all of these people are, but I figure it never hurts to try some new music randomly. :)

And, with the exception of the last disc, they're all full-length CDs, too. Free! Go me!
(Albeit I had to walk them back out to the truck, at the far reaches of the parking lot, or else pay $0.75 to put them in the locker with the rest of my stuff, and I had no change.)

Yay!

Got some reading done for DFMA; met with homework group for DFMA, discovered none of the cardboard pieces fit together (but that's ok, it's Something We Learned From The Process), arranged the rest of the work; went to the computer store and picked up a 2-channel (4-device) ATA 100 capable PCI IDE controller (but no round IDE cables, they didn't have any); got a haircut (long overdue), and soon it'll be time to party!

Speaking of disparities (Sunday afternoon, productivity), I surprised the hair stylist, too.. an engineer with a sense of humor, who likes people! Crazy, I know. :)

And this is sad.. there was a new stump (former tree) near the stone CU sign in Ctown.. counted over 115 rings. Don't know why it was cut down.. :(

So it seems everyone here is rooting for the Patriots, simply because they're the underdogs. I find this amusing. :)

The commercials so far are pretty good, but the Pepsi one starring Britney is a travesty.

And this song is really good.

In case you weren't watching--score was 10-17 Patriots for the middle half of the game, Rams tied it up with a few minutes left, and Patriots took it back with 0:07 left with a 48-yard field goal. Most of us were ecstatic (go underdogs!), but Umair, Mitesh, Priscilla, and maybe some others weren't so happy.

Whee!

And now there's a house meeting which I don't have to attend (as usual), during the boring post-game show, and then maybe Katia, Rosa, and I will watch the one-hour Malcolm in the Middle. :)

In other news, the LJ client is getting really annoying--I can post a time or two, but a few hours later, I have to quit and restart the program (or go to the web) to post a new entry. :P

XviragoX: I hate it when you think you're having a rational discussion and then you realize that the other person is insane.
XviragoX: because then it's too late to get out cleanly.

A house with 28 people, and a cook who cooks for several houses, amasses quite a bit of recycling, especially if one misses the bimonthly pickup a couple times. I think I just put out a good 3+ cubic yards of stuff.. I'm sure the pickup crew will be thrilled in the morning. :)
(Heh.. I took pictures of the masses of recyclables. There's -that- much. :)

Alas, there's only a couple bins of refundable recycling to accompany those, because someone (Neal?) took those back for cash a week or two ago. :P
