Went to see a screening of Amores Perros at the Straight tonight.. according to Katia, the best movie to come out of Mexico in the last 50 years, nominated for an Oscar for Best Foreign Film.. one of the best-developed set of intertwining stories I've ever seen in a movie. Go see it! ..even if you don't speak that Mexico City flavor of Spanish--I'm told the subtitles are well-translated. :)

Now this (and this) is nice stylin's (first major redesign in 10 years) on a pretty pretty car. Yes, you can guess.

(But now it's 500hp, 505ci (8.3L), 500ft-lbs torque, 125lb lighter, a little wider, longer wheelbase, reduced drag, speedo to 220mph, cloth folding top, lower drag, better handling, and other little goodies.)

House votes to ban human cloning.

The comprehensive ban, backed by the Bush administration, passed on a 265-162 vote Tuesday evening. A competing measure -- which would have banned cloning for reproductive purposes, but allowed it for scientific research -- failed Tuesday afternoon on a 249-178 vote.

It still has to pass the Senate, though, which last I heard opposed a ban 61-39..

Earlier, Phill asked me to figure out a band name for him.. the song in question was Five for Fighting - Superman, which shows up on the Dawson's Creek soundtrack, and is a very good song. ("Even heroes have the right to bleed... even heroes have the right to dream.") So, I queried Kazaa and downloaded another dozen tracks, all of which I've liked so far.
Then he directed me to the lyrics for Dave Matthews Band - The Space Between, which I decided to fetch; then Becca suggested Coldplay - Yellow, which I wasn't sure if I'd heard--also good.
