Picked up stuff for BBQ (12 of Michael Shea's Irish Amber, ingredients for guacamole) from Katia's house, breaking four of the beers in the process (the box tore, and 4 of them shattered. Waste of good beer :P) Then picked up Katia and Melissa from Olin library and drove out to Newfield, the truck only near-overheating once along the way. I also learned that Newfield is famous for its covered bridge, and probably nothing else. :)
Anna's house is really nice.. all hardwood floors and rustic and architecturally attractive and whatnot.. and she has four cats (and two dogs, but they're elsewhere at the moment--she's leaving for a week in Morocco today,where she'll be spending a year doing anthro fieldwork starting in September.) Her husband Sasha was present, as well as several other friends from the Antrho dept., including one named Lisa who was hitting on me--'twas entertaining. (Yes, Katia was there, yes, she noticed, no, she wasn't upset.)
Had some crappy beer (Pabst Blue Ribbon), decent beer (Michael Shea's), good beer (Saranac Trail Mix), and excellent vodka (Danzka). Then several hours later, around 2am, we went home.
Today, work on truck and further investigate job possibilities.

Jun. 12th, 2001 03:43 pmDressed pretty (khakis, deck shoes, polo shirt) and went about investigating/applying for jobs.. decided I wasn't qualified for the Outdoor Store (bike maintenance and/or significant retail experience and/or management), but applied at Ithaca Photo (FT photo lab and delivery/pickup runs and/or PT retail) and Home Dairy (food prep, dish, retail). If I ever happen to be at Gepetto's when they're open (nights?), I'll apply there.
Goodness, it's hot out. 'specially for pants.
Oh, scheduled an appointment to get Sylvieferret's stitches removed, Friday afternoon, too.
