Well, that took much longer than it should've.

Back in January, my truck and I were in a bit of an accident involving an icy road and a ditch. As a result, my tailgate hasn't worked right since--sort of jammed to the right, and therefore requiring a good bit of forcing to close it were it to be opened.
So today, my dad and I corrected this, with hammers, chisels, shims, pliers, vise-grips, a floor jack, a pipe, and various and sundry other implements of destruction. Spent a couple hours after dinner before he had to go fetch Shauna from school, then another hour or two afterwards.. but it works now! Yay!

And, I'll be heading back to Ithaca tomorrow. Also yay! (girlfriend! ethernet! friends nearby!)

Oh, and I finally started reading Lord of the Rings today.. Book One: The Ring Sets Out. You know it's actually one book in six volumes and an appendix, not a trilogy? :)

Oh yeah, don't suppose I mentioned..

My older sister is pregnant! Meaning in 8+ months, I'll be an uncle! =)
If it's a girl, it'll probably be Aeryn Elizabeth Messenger, not sure what if it's a boy. Doc says it could be twins, based on some chemical counts.. w00t! :)
