And last night.
May. 6th, 2001 12:03 pmAfter ferrying Tony/Sean/Melissa to/from the movies at Pyramid (they say The Mummy Returns), I went to Dunbars with Tony/Melissa/Katia/Yanerys, then to Republica, where it was Cinco de Mayo.. though Republica was rather poorly attended.
And for those of you who think 5dM is a celebration of Mexico's independence, you're wrong. That's in September sometime; 5dM is a celebration of Mexico's victory over the French who'd invaded, if I remember what Katia said correctly :)
And now I'm considering taking Latin Dance next sem.. I've taken Ballroom and Swing, and can do both reasonably well but neither particularly well, so if I achieve the same from Latin, I'll be a well-rounded adequate dancer :)

And on today's plate..
May. 6th, 2001 12:04 pm11-12: shower, eat, jouse job
12-1: set up house for formal
1-3: Fall01 Welcome Volunteer training @ Noyes
3-4: Pick up corsage @ Michaleen's and camera @ Ritz
4-5: Meeting w/Brian&John for 432 project planning
5-6: Prepare for formal, pick up Katia
6-8: Dinner
8:45: Dessert, set up living room for dance
8:45-9:15: dance instruction
9:15-2am: dance
...yow.
Update:
a) it'd be nice if they could actually accurately estimate the length of a meeting. Ending at 1:35 != Ending at 3
b) That felt like such a freshman meeting, even though it wasn't.
c) The process is more bureaucratic this year than ever before.. more little things to do here and there, more little responsibilities, that ridiculous required freshman reading which we can choose to participate in (right)..
d) They assigning -15- students per OL (Orientation Leader, used to be Orientation Counselor) with no co-OCs. Previously there's been 5-7 students per OC, and a co-OC and their group. Autrement dit, more than double the number of students per OL. And yet, they weren't letting more people apply, which is why I'm a WV and not an OL.

I hate this "Closed Sundays" crap.

All I want is a nice pair of cheap white dress gloves. Is that reallytoo much to ask?

*much concern*
May. 6th, 2001 04:31 pmJust got my camera back from the shop (wherein they forgot to return my camera's body cap, but that's a minor thing.)
As I was walking into the house from my truck, I was just thinking how I should probably be holding the camera by the body and not the plastic bag it was in, and what happens?
*drop*
*bounce*
*little bits go flying*
Now, it seems that all that went flying was the battery door, which I recovered the relevant pieces of, only minor damage, same to camera body.. and it comes on with the replacement of the batteries.. so I'm hoping it wasn't damaged again :(
Update:
Camera seems ok.. reassembled battery door, camera turms on, seems to function.. *relief* *but keeping an eye on its operation anyhow*
