see what happens when I leave town for a week? 80+ friends' journal entries to read, ~60 pieces of email, several belated birthday emails to send, a week's worth of 30+ comics to read.. oh well. I've had a fabulous week, and since I didn't take notes (like Jo seems to do), this is only a brief overview.
The Alpha Phi Omega National Convention in Philadelphia took place from Dec27-30; it was a blast. Drove Phill and I drove up Wednesday (12/27) morning to Elise's place, where I parked and her mom drove us into Philly. Walked to Geno's for Philly Cheesesteaks with Elise that night (hella long walk, and damn cold out, but good food :). Went to the Franklin Institute one afternoon. Met lots of cool new people, ran into lots of friends (mostly from Section 88/89 that I'd met at Sectional conferences). The Dock Street Brew Pub was in the Convention Center attached to the hotel, where they have half a dozen massive steel brew tanks in a glass-walled room behind the bar; this was also where I broke my camera (cracked the LCD panel; camera stopped working entirely a day or 2 later :P--however, Ritz Camera may fix it free :) even though the extended service plan expired 4 days before the camera was broken :P. ) Spent about $80 on souvenirs and APO paraphernalia (including some for Sue).
And then, despite the weather, I drove north to Albany on 12/31 to spend New Years with Sue, which included exchanging Xmas presents late--some of the things she got me included a fabulous cookbook and an electric motor kit--she couldn't resist. *g* I ended up not coming back until the afternoon of 1/3, partly because she was sick and I took her to the doctor, and she'll be losing her job soon cuz the shop she's working at is closing, so she wanted me there.. She's considering moving out to Ithaca to get a new job, though, in part to be with me and in part to get the hell out of Albany/Troy, where she's spent her entire life. I like this plan :)
Oh, got my Fall2000 grades back--worst yet at Cornell, ~2.2 GPA for the semester. Grr. I did pass Wines, though, which kinda surprised me.
Anyway, to sleep or something--post's gone on far enough :)
