Saw Moby last night, with Hybrid opening..

Hybrid was pretty cool, lotta synth work and a kickin' drumset.

Moby.. just rocked up one side and down the other. The man is incredibly versatile, from soft acoustic to jumpin' techno, all good.
2 solid hours of amazing work. including a long double encore, culminating with quite possibly the fastest beat in any song, ever. :) also including a sort of Vietnam era medley (w/some Hendrix! :), and a diatribe about why skinny white guys play instruments that make them seem large.. and he dedicated one song to the people in the balcony with little colored flashlights (lot brighter and long-lasting than glowsticks, of which there were also many) :)
he's got a tie-in with Yahoo! Music, too, so there were free posters of Moby&Yahoo! Music, and a free 4-song Moby sampler CD for everyone on the way in.. 's'all good :)

And the lighting was the coolest I've ever seen in Cornell's Bailey Hall. And lemme just say, music so powerful you can feel it on the hairs on your arms cuz the air's moving that much from the speakers.. damn. 'course, I was about 10-15ft from a medium-sized wall of speakers.

mmmmm...

oh, and there was that whole thing with Neal deciding not to skip the house meeting for the show, so i had an extra $20 ticket and an hour to dispose of it.. tried cornell.marketplace and ithaca.marketplace, called a couple people wanting to by but they already had; ran through the Cornellians on my AIM buddylist, got nothing.. so went to the show and managed to sell my extra to a mother and her daughter, who also bought a tic from someone else.. all worked out well :)

and then, outside, there were some people from thetruth.com with postcards and stickers, and they had some shirts but ran out.. damn. i wanted to get one to wear if I smoke :)
