Mixed emotions
Sep. 15th, 2000 11:42 pmwell, this evening was pretty cool, for the most part. first, I saw Jane Goodall speak (she's doing a sort of 40th-anniversary-of-her-research-in-Gombe), then skipped out on the Q&A session with her to see Andrew Webb (Mark in the Broadway cast of RENT) talk about his film career and issues of homosexuality on screen and stage, then he sang several songs (some original, some from RENT accompanied on piano by some people from Risley, as well as voice accompaniment by a guy from Last Call (also a pianist)).. so that was all cool.
what wasn't as cool was that i was supposed to meet Bria and her friend before Jane Goodall; she e-mailed me at 5:52pm asking where it was we were going to meet.. i gave a location and time (Balch Arch, ~7-7:15, since Goodall started at 7:30.) I didn't get a response to that mail, and she and her friend didn't show up, and she'd already left her room.. so Bailey Hall was packed, no way to find anyone, so when I went to RPCC for RENTmark, I saw her and her friend in the front row, she commented that she'd seen me on the balcony in Bailey. (Neal asked if I was annoyed that she a) hadn't saved seats for he and I, or b) didn't come back to join us--I wasn't, but those wouldn't have even occurred to me if he hadn't mentioned them.) Then she and her friend hung out after the presentation for at least 15min, at which point I gave up on them ever coming out and went home.
I'm a bit disappointed/annoyed/confused.
But theoretically she's coming paintballing with us tomorrow, so.. dunno.
