On the benefits of power outages

Well, we had a strong thunderstorm this afternoon.. killed power briefly while i was at Swedish Massage II class, then again right around dinnertime (6pm) .. and wasn't estimated to be back up until 10. So after hanging out in the darkening house for an hour or so (~8pm) chatting with other bored people, I decided this was an excuse to go visit the dorm known as Dickson, where (of course) they had power. Visited Joe for a few, then on to my preferred destination, Bria's room ;)

Basically, we hung out for the next 5 hours or so, and it was remarkably cool. She was reading Psych and making fun of my control systems stuff, i was returning the favor for her reading; listened to various musics off Napster and CD; assisted in her screwing with the head of a VA Tech frosh chick via Napster's IM feature.. (convinced the girl she was a Cornell senior named Brian, 6'1", 180#, attractive, graduating summa cum laude, Heroin user who's against drinking--and may have actually gotten the girl to investigate the Questioning side of her sexuality.. 'twas entertaining.)

And on a Bria note--she's amazingly creative :) She sings well, dances well (mostly modern), paints whenever she gets the urge, or uses pen&ink.. very cool girl =)
(And of course, she's cute, 5'3.75", honey-brown hair, hazel eyes..)
Here's hoping :)

PS--she also wants to be a redhead sometimes, and has frequently dyed her hair red.. *grin*
(as well as orange, green, blue, purple-streaked, color-change-with-the-season.. :)

Goodstuff

I just got a commendation by my supervisor in front of our boss about the quality of my work recently.. How cool is that? =)

Dorm visit =)

Well, Bria berated me for not visiting her Monday night when I went on an indorm (housecall) for ResNet (I just left a message on her door); so today I visited her for a couple minutes after an indorm in an adjacent building :)
I also delivered (for her birthday, a week late because I just learned about it yesterday) a copy of the Sunny Weather CD I got at the party last weekend (scanner and color laser printer and Photoshop make for quick/easy/quality CD insert copies) and a quite spiffy Celtic knot around her initials (BCM) with a star incorporated over the 'C' (since Carawing means star, see entry on her name).. 1/4" grid, ~3"x4.25" plus the star. She liked it, it's on her wall already. Didn't hurt that I fixed her e-mail while I was visiting for a couple minutes, too :)

Grr. I don't want to write my lab report due tomorrow. Shouldn't take very long, but a) it's still due tomorrow, and b) it'll still suck.
