post-concert report :)
Aug. 13th, 2000 02:38 ama) the Coors Light Amphitheatre at Montage Mtn. Ski Resort in Scranton, PA is cool.
b) the cover band kinda sucked, but that was ok cuz we didn't get there till 30-40min into their set.
c) Live kicked ass. :)
d) Counting Crows was good, but as they were significantly more mellow than Live they should probably have played first.
e) Security there was a bunch of assholes, one in particular. There's a 5' rock wall between the ticketed seating and lawn seating, and there's also a short fence above and behind the wall. So during the break between Live and CC, i happened to be walking along that wall. Security asshole assumes, quite irrationally, that I've hopped the fence from the lawn, and orders me to leave the venue. I show my ticket, and Neal (with whom I went) shows his, to prove that we are in fact ticketed patrons, and he says we got them from someone there and tears them up and says, "not anymore you don't. come with me." and walks towards the gate. at the suggestion of a couple sitting below the wall, we walk the other way back to our seats and sit down and watch the rest of the show.
but seriously, what the fuck? i can't even comprehend the thought process that went on in that oaf's head. why would i be sitting on the wall obviously if i'd hopped the fence? how would neal and i have adjacent tickets? and what the hell gave him the right to tear up our tickets?
..Neal actually wanted him to piece the ticket back together and come find us, so we could demand to speak to the head of security and explain the situation, pulling up my ticket invoice if necessary, and proving Security Asshole wrong.
