Evening w/Laura&Mike, Chick Halloween, voting fraud, license plates, PvP, motoGearStuff

So yesterday afternoon I was chatting with Laura (French girl from Mike Hedrick's birthday party) and she mentioned she and Mike were meeting for dinner in the evening, and invited me to join them. I called Mike to verify that this was okay, and it turned out to be quite welcome--his long-time girlfriend was feeling a little jealous, see. So I met them at Ballston Common Mall (which I'd previously never been to)--which, incidentally, has the most reasonable parking fee I've ever seen in Arlington, at $1 for all evening--and found them outside Starbucks, whence we got into Mike's car and headed to Shirlington. We went to a very tasty Thai place, cleverly yet nonsensically named T.H.A.I., then walked over to Maggie Moo's for ice cream. (I had Cinnamöö!)

Mm, cute French girl. ;)

Chick Tract: The Devil's Night. Ah, if only it were intended as satire..

Via [livejournal.com profile] sebatical: Problems that have already been reported to the state of Florida regarding the upcoming election, including thousands of undesired party affiliation changes (to R), registrations to addresses that don't exist, forged signatures, undesired registrations.. (and this (bad ballots), and this (RNC-funded registration fraud..)

While out yesterday, I saw some clever license plates:
MSOFT SUX
ERUDITE (on a pickup truck)
END SIEG
I CODE
CAZPER
RED RCR (on a red sports car)

But by far, the winners:
KAFKA (on a VW Beetle)
NUPRIN (on a little, yellow, Audi)

PvP: Metaphorically, our relationship is pre-warp technology.

Why wear a full-face helmet? (Not graphic, but makes its point well.)
