Visits and fraternity fun and web stuff

Visited the Sylvie* and the Elz (her roommate), had tasty pumpkin cake, introduced them to the Llama Song and Team America and the GOP Mashup (all linked recently), skipped the APO reception, and walked back to my house--it got cold!--a bit after 1800. Changed into shirt/tie/jacket-over-kilt&boots, and proceeded to hang out with several brothers, several alumni, one son, an attractive wife-of-alum and a very attractive girlfriend-of-brother, for a cocktail hour+, then a nice dinner (cooked by an alum with assistance from a catering company who mostly handled linens/dishes/waiting), then more cocktails/chat. Then I introduced some of the brothers to the Llama Song, the GOP Mashup, and Movie Re-Enactments By Bunnies, back downstairs for more of the above, and eventually everyone parted ways for the night. (And Mark Golkowski was in from CA, and Phil Chen in from NJ! Haven't seen them in a couple years, so that was a nice surprise. :)

In the morning, I hope to hear from [livejournal.com profile] vampirekat, since I've left two messages on voicemail I can only assume is hers, and possibly get ahold of [livejournal.com profile] thehunter, and head south by early afternoon.

* As an aside, Sylvie has somehow managed to go almost 21 years without a basic familiarity with William Shatner, Captain Kirk, or George Carlin--didn't even recognize the names! I've heard of being a bit out of the loop, but that took the cake. (Pumpkin cake!) :)
