Movie & photos

Watched Legally Blonde, which I'd a) heard good things about, b) seen part of, and c) seen a trailer or TV spot about it (or its sequel) just last night at Christine's. After its terribly ditzy start, it evolved into a very entertaining, well-made movie. Nathan and I were pleasantly impressed. :)

Go look at the latest photos of my macaw! Give her praise and adulation! :D

Also, check out the nifty old sidecar-rigged bikes and old scooters from Adams Morgan last week. :)

(Yes, same photos I linked before, but in a convenient thumbnailed community post format. ;)

And while you're at it, check out these two photos of a nifty white-with-black-circles moth and adjacent big shiny cicada nymph I found on a parking sign post at a rest stop last weekend. :) (And I suppose if you're interested in the technical specs of the 17-mile-bridge-with-two-1-mile-tunnels I crossed leaving Norfolk, the sign with the tech specs is pictured here.)

The moth is some sort of tiger or owlet moth. I don't know for certain, as I'm having to go by text descriptions and none of them seem to exactly match. However, I can tell you that it's a female. You can tell by the threadlike antennae, whereas males have the featherlike kind, to help them pick up on the pheramones the females put off.

The beetle isn't actually a beetle. It's a Cicada nymph.

And I'm not trying to be a know-it-all. It took me quite a while to look all this up, and I still didn't come up with much. :)
