Busy work and home repairs
At work, I a) finished my final expense report for the trip, which was technically due Friday, but they let it slide since it's my first one (and it's not critical that it get in quickly anyway, especially given that 3 of my previous 4 only just arrived by mail, b) helped rearrange and clean the lab for little apparent reason aside from busy work, and c) observed a lab-wide discussion of upcoming changes in lab activity to prevent people from getting bored, jaded, and/or untrained. Hoo-rah.
After work, I stopped by Home Depot to get light bulbs (at least four out around the house) and a replacement flush valve (old one leaked and then the float broke, incapacitating the upstairs toilet at least a week ago), then Petsmart--no superworms or giant mealworms, alas. Got home, replaced bulbs, then spent about an hour replacing the flush valve--would've been easier if the cutoff valve by the toilet worked properly. (The new one has the spiffy feature of not refilling if the tank leaks, until you actually flush it--meaning it doesn't top up every few minutes if there's a leak.)
Shortly, I go off to Manassas to see my parents for the first time in a few months, since they're back from their cruise. :)
